Operation Break-Through

Are you ready for 2010 to be your break-through year ?
Are you ready to commit your mind , body and soul toward achieving your fitness goals?
Need a little extra personal accountability and guidance?

If you answered yes to any of these questions..Operation Break-Through is for you. This 5 week program is only open to 4 people. Coach JeVon  will personally take on 4 individuals for training and nutritional counseling for 5 weeks.(15 Sessions)

January 16th - February 22nd, 2010

2010 Paleo Challenge


We will be kicking off the new year with an event of our own. In an effort to get our clients into the greatest shape possible, Westlake CrossFit will be conducting it's 2010 Paleo Challenge! Although completely optional, we challenge each and everyone of you guys, to see if you can eat  and train like a caveman for 5 weeks. The paleo diet is an incredible way to shed pounds and increase performance by eating the way our ancestors did before the advent of modern agricultural techniques. The challenge will begin on January 16th at 10 a.m. at the gym. We will be handing out information packets as well as measuring body composition. You must attend this meeting or schedule a time to meet a trainer privately before January 19th. The following Monday we will do a baseline workout, that we will revisit at the end of the 5 week period to check progress. The man and woman who show the most improvement in fitness and physique, will win 1 free month of membership, as well as split the entry fees of all the participants. Winners will be voted on by your trainers at the end of the 5 weeks. The requirements are as follows:

1. You must keep a food journal. 1 missed day per week will be tolerated, but 2 will result in an immediate disqualification. Each week of journal entries will either be emailed or handed to your assigned trainer every Monday before midnight. These should take no more than 5 minutes of your time each day. We will show you how to do them at packet pickup on the 16th.

2. Attend a minimum of 2 workouts each week

3. $20 entry fee paid at the packet pickup

4. Attend the baseline workout on January 18th. This is also mandatory and can be made up if you have something else going on and cant make it.

5. Sign up by emailing or talking with one of your trainers

We will be giving you guys constant feedback and support throughout the challenge. If there is anything you need please don't hesitate ask us for help. I hope everyone takes the challenge so that we can achieve our goals together as a team

January 18th-23rd, 2010

Shoe Drive

Please donate your gently worn shoes for the victims of the Haiti earthquake this week. Westlake CrossFit will be collecting shoes to donate to the victims of this disaster. We hope to get at least 25 pairs of shoes.

Free Saturday Workout

Westlake CrossFit will be having a free Saturday workout at Common's Ford Park in Cuernavaca at 9AM. Invite anyone who is interested in trying their first CrossFit workout. This will be a fun workout designed to accommodate all levels of fitness. Bring out the family to watch and/or participate. This will give everyone chance to view one of Austin's most hidden secrets (Common's Ford Park).

 

Getting there: From MoPac in Austin, head west on FM 2244. Continue west on FM 2244 through the intersection with Capital of Texas Highway. Aproximately 3.5 miles after that intersection turn right on Cuernavaca Drive and then turn left on Commons Ford Road. Continue down this road for and look for the entrace to the park on the left. Parking is along the shoulder of the road. Look for a brown wind gauge and antenna on the left for an indication of where to park.
